Kelly Washington Waiheke Island Syrah 2022
The Syrah grapes were sourced from a small, mature coastal vineyard on Waiheke Island, located off the coast of Auckland. All fruit was handpicked. The fermentation process included 15% whole bunches, introducing subtle tannins and enhancing aromatic complexity. Post-fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 21% being new oak. This careful selection enhancing the wine's complexity without overshadowing its fruit character. The wine was bottled without filtration or fining.
