Blank Canvas 'Abstract' Three Rows Sauvignon Blanc 2020
An alternative expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with a focus on texture and layers of aromatic complexity. The wine has an intense backbone of blackcurrant, white florals, and a signature savouriness. The palate boasts toasty flavours and smoky complexity creating a wine with elegance and beautiful balance.
Grapes were hand-picked in the regeneratively farmed Holdaway Vineyard at Dillons Point. Whole-bunch pressing was used with only the free-run juice selected for the final wine. Natural fermentation took 15 days to complete, after which the wine was pressed to barrel where it completed natural malolactic fermentation and matured on its yeast lees for 15 months in seasoned French oak puncheons, without any stirring. The wine was bottled without filtration.
