Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 2020
Notes of ripe, dark berry fruits, star anise, rose and violets on the nose. Layered tannins and seamless minerality that carries the wine to a long, elegant finish.
Made from their oldest pinot noir plantings on the Martinborough Terrace, surrounding the winery. The hand-harvested fruit was 40% whole bunch pressed, with the remainder destemmed. Fermentation was by indigenous yeasts, with a total tank time 15- 23 days. After pressing, it completed malolactic ferment in oak, followed by 11 months total in French oak (30% new), then blended and held for further 8 months prior to bottling.
